A tattoo studio owner in Birmingham has stressed the importance of doing your research before getting inked – after calls for better regulation of the industry were made.
Karma Web, who owns Spear Studio in King’s Heath, said the number of people coming to them for tattoo laser removal treatment is on the rise. Staff at the studio have corrected everything from misspelt names to tattoos given in the back of a van.
The advice comes as a group of leading 海角视频 tattoo artists – Tattoo Regulations 2013 – called for tougher regulations across the industry; warning people about the dangers of backstreet parlours and home inking kits.

Karma, who set up his business 10 years ago, said: “It’s very important that people do their research.
“There’s a big difference between studios, nowadays they open up on every street corner and not all have gone through the proper courses. We do laser tattoo removal here and we spend a lot of time trying to fix dodgy tattoos; everything from bad language to misspelt names.
“We’ve had people come here who have been tattooed in the back on a van or in someone’s kitchen.”
The King’s Heath team always recommend customers look at different artist’s portfolios to get an idea of what they want before booking.
Tattoo Regulations 2013 is led by celebrity tattooist Kevin Paul, who has worked on Ed Sheeran and Harry Styles.
The Department of Health says it believes new laws are not the answer to the problem.
