Professional Sportswoman of the Year Sponsored by PMGC
The Birmingham Sports Awards are benefiting again this year from the support of a number of partner businesses and organisations.
An awards ceremony of this nature and scale is given credence and weight by the assistance it receives from all number of sponsors looking to celebrate all that is good about sport in the West Midlands.

Partner groups are therefore every bit as important in the success of the awards as the involvement of the wider public.
This year the Professional Sportswoman of the Year Award is being sponsored by the Solihull-based IT infrastructure company, .
Their Head of Marketing, Hannah Cunningham, took time out to tell us about the firm’s reasons for getting behind the Awards..
Hannah said: “The Birmingham Sports Awards give us the chance to celebrate local excellence and acknowledge the achievements of these great, local athletes. Admiring the qualities needed to succeed in sport helps bring the community together and promotes sporting participation to all. Without doubt these awards will have a positive impact.”
PMGC’s desire to promote women’s sport is reflected in the award they elected to sponsor. Hannah added: “We’ve chosen to sponsor the Professional Sportswoman of the Year Award as women don’t tend to get the same exposure as men in sports and that’s also traditionally been the case in business.

“The winner of this award will inspire young women and girls to get active and encourage them to develop personal qualities such as confidence, ambition and determination that will allow them succeed in both sport and business.” Hannah described how PMGC have a clear commitment to Birmingham and the surrounding area, saying: “As the 海角视频’s second largest city and the central hub of the West Midlands, where almost 50 per cent of our customers are based, Birmingham represents the central focus of our overall business strategy.
“I believe that a successful business is made up of many things, not least a focus on the local area. In this way we constantly look to reinvest in our local economy, nurture local talent and procure the services we require from local businesses whenever possible. Our support for the Birmingham Sports Awards is born of the same philosophy. Sport is the perfect metaphor for business. It’s not about what you do when you are winning but what you do when you are faced with a challenge. That attitude defines the winners, in business, sport and life.”
Hannah’s own sporting experiences have helped her professional evolution. She told us: “As a keen marathon runner, I have had a small insight into the dedication and tenacity required to cross that finish line and reach your target time. Success in business takes many similar qualities, so our region’s sport stars are the role models we should all aspire to imitate.”
She further illustrated the things she sees sport and business as having in common, saying: “PMGC help businesses embrace current and emerging technologies to transform their performance. The Technology industry is a fast paced and challenging environment where you have to always be at the forefront of innovation and always stay one step ahead of the competition to succeed. The same applies to the sporting industry.”
