Birmingham jobs boost as recruitment starts for Genting Casino

New conference and entertainment centre at NEC joins Grand Central shopping centre and Virgin Media on the hunt for staff in the city

Birmingham is set for a jobs bonanza after a third major employment boost was unveiled in a matter of days.

A drive to recruitment 300 members of staff for Resorts World Birmingham, set to open at the NEC this summer, has begun.

This comes just a day after a search for shopping centre began, while boost this week.

In all, 1,100 people will be recruited at Resorts World by the end of the year but the first 300 are for the Genting International Casino.

A range of other jobs are now being recruited for including cashiers, poker dealers, other related gaming staff and gaming management roles, with a huge training push set to begin.

Casino general manager Dave Scott said: "Not only will successful applicants be working in one of the most exciting environments in the gaming industry but be a part of one of the largest fully integrated leisure and entertainment resorts in Europe.

"We have a wide range of jobs on offer and with a diverse set of experience and qualifications required so I encourage anyone who feels they would like to be a part of the Genting International Casino team to attend the recruitment fair and see what is available to them."

The rush of new jobs comes in the West Midlands.
