New homes for army medical staff based at Queen Elizabeth Hospital

The houses are a joint initiative between Birmingham City Council, the Ministry of Defence and construction partners.

Military medical staff caring for wounded soldiers, sailors and airmen at are to receive 64 purpose-built homes.

The homes, costing £12.8 million, have either just been finished or awating completion in Longbridge and Kings Norton.

The houses are a joint initiative between Birmingham , the Ministry of Defence and construction partners.

The authority’s development boss, Coun Tahir Ali (Lab, Nechells) said: “I am delighted Birmingham Council and its partners have provided high-quality homes for service personnel.

“We will continue to look at ways this type of housing for both current and former armed services personnel.

“This shows our commitment to our armed forces.”
