Anaerobic digestion specialist Birch Solutions has entered into a major new strategic partnership to bring innovative combined heat and power technology and services to the º£½ÇÊÓƵ.

The North Lincolnshire business has completed a new sales and service partner agreement with leading international manufacturer 2G. It will give the Melton Ross Team the ability to offer the German company’s full product portfolio to operators, while backing up the equipment.

2G employs more than 950 people globally, positioning itself at the forefront of decentralised production of energy in the output range from 20kW to 4,500 kW. Birch Solutions is one of the º£½ÇÊÓƵ’s leading AD plant construction and service providers, providing a full suite of services and maintenance along with biogas plant optimisation.

Managing director Glenn Carney said: “2G is respected worldwide for producing high quality combined heat and power technology and it’s fantastic that we are able to bring their products to º£½ÇÊÓƵ biogas producers.

“This strategic deal is recognition of Birch Solutions’ continuing ambitions to position ourselves at the top of the renewable gas industry.”

Birch, a division of quarry giant Singleton Birch, entered the industry after installing a facility at the site, going on to buy a service provider out as it built expertise and delivered for third parties.

Mr Carney added: “Bioenergy already makes up a large part of the renewable energy mix in the European Union and it will only grow in importance here in the º£½ÇÊÓƵ and Ireland. This partnership, along with the other deals we’ve secured and our growing team of experts, will help to ensure we are well placed to help drive the biogas revolution ahead.”
