Housebuilder Barratt Developments has started a phased re-opening of its construction sites in Staffordshire.

Initially, five sites across the region will be re-opened with work being prioritised on already sold plots at advanced stages of construction.

David Wilson Homes Mercia will be commencing work at The Village at Wedgwood Park and The Oaks at Wedgwood Park in Barlaston and Hallam Park in Lichfield.

Barratt Homes West Midlands will be restarting work at Deer’s Rise in Cannock and Dunstall Park in Tamworth, while David Wilson Homes East Midlands will re-start work at Dunstall Park in Tamworth.

A new detailed set of working practices and protocols has been developed by Barratt and David Wilson Homes so that its construction sites can operate safely. This includes changes to signage, site welfare facilities and compounds, site access and walkways.

A nominated social distancing marshal will also be present on all sites to ensure compliance.

The company is not re-opening its sales centres or show homes yet, but will continue to operate remotely.

Dominic Harman, managing director at David Wilson Homes Mercia, said: "Our first priority is the health and safety of our employees, sub-contractors and customers.
