The construction group behind the and the (below) in Birmingham has won a contract to build a £33 million residential care facility.
The Midlands arm of BAM, which recently sold where it is based, will lead the development of the 'Richmond Witney' facility in Oxfordshire for Richmond Care Villages, part of Bupa.
The nine-acre facility will include space for about 240 residents including independent living, assisted living and registered care beds, a restaurant, gym, swimming pool, library, shop and outdoor bowling green.
Gardens will be used by the residents and also for growing fresh produce for the kitchens.
Construction manager Steve Roome said: "We are looking forward to beginning this project to create first class facilities for those who want to get the most from later life.
"We will be working with local companies where possible to ensure our work benefits the local environment and community even at construction stage."
Albert Josephs, development manager of Richmond Care Villages, added: "We were really impressed by BAM throughout the tender process and look forward to working with them during the development of Richmond Witney."
The village is set to open by early 2016.
