Away Resorts swoops for Kenwick Park-owning Coppergreen

Sheffield company behind Lincolnshire hotel and lodge setting bought out by Tattershall Lakes owner

Fast-growing º£½ÇÊÓÆµ holiday park operator Away Resorts has bought leisure operator Coppergreen in an undisclosed deal.

The Sheffield headquartered business was behind 370 lodges across four parks in Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire and Scotland - as well as Kenwick Park Hotel near Louth.

It had only been added to the stable in 2018, and now sits with the Hemel Hempstead business backed by CVC Capital Partners.

The deal takes Away’s footprint ro 27 locations, and follows the addition of Aria Resorts in August. Earlier in 2021 the owner of Tattershall Lakes in Lincolnshire had added The Beachcomber, Cleethorpes, Boston West and a site in St Ives, Cornwall.

Growth capital investor BGF exits as part of the deal, having backed Coppergreen in 2016.
