Anglesey's science park M-SParc now 75% full - and set to go on tour

The Bangor University owned Menai Science Park was established to create well paid careers in the region

What impact has M-SParc had over the past year?

A science park that opened on Anglesey 18 months ago is now 75% full - with plans to take the entrepreneurial spirit of the building on tour.

M-SParc, a Bangor University owned Science Park, was established to create well paid careers in the region, in the science and technology sectors.

It has flourished since opening - with 30 businesses now based there and over 150 staff employed, including 40 completely new careers.

To strengthen its presence in north west Wales, a year long project is taking place, as M-SParc goes on tour.

This will see teams base themselves in a community, working with existing schemes to see where M-SParc can add value and link to academic research and skilled graduates through Bangor University.

The tour will start in Bethesda on November 1, in the shared space of Partneriaeth Ogwen on the High Street and move to a location in Conwy in three months.

Managing director Pryderi ap Rhisiart said: “We feel we’re certainly meeting our remit of stimulating the economy of Gwynedd, Anglesey and Conwy.

“This isn’t happening because we have an award-winning building people want to come to.
