A jobcentre on Anglesey has reopened after being closed for 18 months.

Amlwch Jobcentre shut when the pandemic hit as it wasn't set up to safely allow appointments - but work coaches have supported local jobseekers remotely, through phone and digital services.

But it is now open to provide face-to-face support for jobseekers in the Amlwch area following a revamp.

Each work coach on-site at Amlwch Jobcentre will support priority customers with one-on-one tailored support to find their next role.

Minister for Employment Mims Davies MP said: “I am so grateful to the team at Amlwch Jobcentre Plus for working tirelessly throughout the pandemic to help their community - it’s their everyday efforts that make a real difference to people’s lives.

“There is so much on offer to jobseekers right now with hundreds of new vacancies across the Isle – an exciting time to ramp up our Plan for Jobs support on-site.

“Our work coaches have the expertise to match people to the right roles or training opportunities, including our Kickstart Scheme, which helps young people seeking that vital first step onto the career ladder.”
