How the cladding could look on the new Moxy Hotel Plymouth

A detailed hotel brief has been developed for the six-storey building which envisages a 200-bedroom hotel with associated landscaping, car parking, and restaurant, bar and leisure facilities.

Documents say there is a 鈥渞equirement for the project to respect and knit into the Millbay Boulevard Masterplan鈥 and that the building should be of a 鈥渃ontextually appropriate nature and contribute positively to the regeneration of the Millbay area and vision for Plymouth鈥.

The building should have an active frontage , through the 鈥渋nteraction of key spaces on the ground floor and a cohesive landscape strategy鈥.

The documents said: 鈥淭he new boulevard will increase pedestrian links between the marina and town centre, in turn creating a greater footfall within the area.

鈥淭he hotel proposals will seek to activate the adjacent boulevard, by creating a focal point and accessible ground floor bar and food area.鈥

A Mitnija logistics document shows how the Moxy Hotel Plymouth will look during construction when covered in scaffolding

The documents also say that while the building should be of an appropriate quality for both its marine setting and purpose, it should also be affordable, with pragmatic decisions made to deliver a building that is value for money.
