Construction has started on a new development in Somerset.

Acorn Property Group will build 24 new homes at Bucklands Place in Nailsea. There will be 17 two, three and four-bedroom open market houses along with seven properties allocated for affordable housing.

Each new home will benefit from energy efficient designs according to Acorn. The group said that features will include insulation, PV panels and electric car charging infrastructure. Every house will also have an EPC rating of A, "potentially saving the new owner a significant amount on their energy bills compared to an older home".

Acorn Property Group, which has offices in Exeter, Newquay and Bristol, is developing Bucklands Place in partnership with Barwood Capital, which acquired the site in July 2022 through its Residential Platform.

Robin Squire, regional managing director, Acorn Bristol said: "We’re always striving to take a bespoke approach to each of our developments and to create homes that fit well within their immediate surroundings. Bucklands Place is no exception and has a distinct character that will fit perfectly with the surroundings.

“The development is within easy reach of Nailsea’s thriving town centre and the surrounding countryside, with easy commuting links to Bristol, and we hope the combination and variety of homes available here will help to foster a diverse community.”

The new homes are due to be launched for sale later this year and ready starting from spring 2024.
