A £6.1m residential project, backed by the Liverpool City Region's 'Brownfield Land Fund', is set to bring 26 new homes to a part of Merseyside.
Livv Housing (LH) has now unveiled its show home at Berrywood as part of the second phase of the regeneration scheme in Whiston, whose first phase was completed in 2019. LH views this move as a 'key milestone' in the larger Lickers Lane regeneration scheme.
Work commenced on Livv Homes' £6.1m affordable housing project in Whiston in June 2023, with the Berrywood development poised to offer 26 new affordable homes under shared ownership and Rent-to-Buy (RTB) schemes.

Berrywood will feature a mix of two and three-bedroom properties, with seven homes earmarked for shared ownership and the remaining 19 set aside for RTB. The construction of a new road, Quistan Way, will also improve access to the development.
Rent to Buy schemes provide households the opportunity to rent their home at 80% of the market rate while saving for a deposit over up to five years. Shared ownership buyers can initially purchase a 10-75% share of a home, paying rent on the remainder, with the option to gradually increase their ownership to 100%.
Livv Housing believes these new homes are crucial in addressing the rising demand for 'quality, affordable housing' in Knowsley.
Yvonne Westhead-Fyles, director of development at Livv Housing Group, said "After successfully delivering 28 homes for affordable rent in phase one, we're proud to introduce home ownership opportunities to the area and give more people the opportunity to get on the property ladder."
She added: "This regeneration reflects our commitment to investing in people and place, providing opportunities for local people and transforming this area into a vibrant community where individuals and families can thrive."
