Up to 400 new homes are being proposed for Barton.

Banks Property is working on a 25-hectare site to the south of the town, on land bordered by the A15 and Horkstow Road.

A mix of high-quality housing of different sizes and types is indicated, as well as accessible areas of public open space, with new footpaths, wetland areas and wildlife habitats.

Jeannie Raine, community relations manager at The Banks Group, said: “There is a clear and increasingly pressing need across the º£½ÇÊÓƵ to increase the available supply of quality homes, including in North Lincolnshire, and we firmly believe that people should have the opportunity to live in the places where they wish to live.

“At Barton-upon-Humber, in consultation with the local community, we want to design a development that brings a range of economic, employment, environmental, supply chain and social benefits to the area, and we feel that the location is wholly suitable for the type of development we have in mind.”

As part of a first stage consultation a survey has been launched. Consultation events are also to be held.

Ms Raine said: “Meaningful local consultation is an essential part of all our developments, and we’re doing everything we can during the current pandemic to make sure as much information as possible is available about our plans and that all interested parties have the opportunity to express their views.

“Our initial survey is designed to help us gather local people’s views including the sorts of community, environmental and transport enhancements they would like to see delivered through the development.
