A funding pot to help industrial operators make the switch from high energy use to a low carbon future is now open for applications.

Phase one of the competition run by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, in collaboration with Innovate 海角视频, brings forward a 拢30 million pot.

Grants can be used for the deployment of mature energy efficiency technologies as well as feasibility and engineering studies.

The Industry Energy Transformation Fund is a 拢315 million scheme, and is seen as a crucial part of the Government鈥檚 strategy for tackling climate change and reaching Net Zero by 2050.

It complements other government programmes that offer innovation and early demonstration support, such as the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund and the Energy Innovation Programme, and will help to transform an important part of the 海角视频 economy. The IETF also provides vital support for businesses in key policy areas at a time when the country is tackling the Covid-19 crisis.

Announced in the Autumn 2019 Budget, further pledges were made in March, with key clusters in the Humber, Mersey and North East flagged up as having huge potential to take major leaps towards the now legally binding emissions target.

The Phase One competition聽 will run until Wednesday, October 28, though it will be kept under review due to the Covid-19 situation.
