The vast wealth of English and Scottish football’s richest owners has been laid bare in a new list of the world’s top sporting investors.
According to betting company Olbg’s Richest Sport Club Owners list, Britain’s richest owner is Roman Abramovich, with an estimated wealth of close to £10 million.
Next comes QPR owner Lakshmi Mittal (worth around £8.1 billion), followed by Aston Villa owner Nassef Sawiris (£5.35 billion) and Guo Guangchang of Wolves (£4.5 billion). Then comes British investor and trader Joe Lewis, the majority owner of Spurs, whose wealth is estimated at around £3.7 billion.

Between them the 20 海角视频 club owners – a high number of them making their money abroad – are worth almost £60 billion.
But their mega finances are way off the £54.7 billion wealth of Indian petrochemicals, oil and gas magnate Mukesh Ambani, the world’s richest sports club owner, who counts the Mumbai Indians cricket club among his assets. The ninth richest person on earth and India’s richest man, he bought the Mumbai Indians in 2008.
Los Angeles Clippers owner Steve Ballmer, who is a former CEO of Microsoft CEO is second on the global list with an estimated wealth of £53.2 billion.
He put some of his fortunes from the software giant into the basketball team in 2014 for a then-record $2 billion. Since then he has helped the team to build a new stadium and make sizable charitable donations to youth initiatives.
Third on the global list is Deportivo La Coruna owner Amancio Ortega, the Spanish entrepreneur who founded the Zara fashion chain, and who is valued at £47.6 billion. He is the 17th richest person on earth.

Among the most benevolent and successful English club owners in recent seasons is Leicester City owner and chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha – known as Khun Top.
He is the 53rd richest sports club owner in the world, with a net worth of almost £3 billion, ahead of Newcastle owner Mike Ashley and Liverpool owner John Henry.
Khun Top took over the club with his father Khun Vichai in 2010, and helped City go on some journey over the last 10 years.
