A new £6 million factory is being built in the Black Country after a £1.2 million land sale.

Morris Site Machinery has acquired 3.5 acres of land on the i54 industrial park near Wolverhampton.

The new premises are expected to take a year to complete and will provide 67,000 sq ft of manufacturing and office space.

Morris Site Machinery, which sells equipment such as generators, welders, pumps and pressure washers, will relocate from its existing base at Four Ashes a few miles away.

The company's sister business Morris Property is collaborating on the development of the new factory and it will join other brands at i54 such as Jaguar Land Rover, Moog, ISP and ERA.

Commercial property agency Bulleys acted for landowner City of Wolverhampton Council and Staffordshire County Council on the sale.

Partner Noel Muscutt said: "This sale means that most of the first phase of i54 is taken, in excess of 140 net acres for development on a 239 acre site.

"We are delighted at the successful conclusion of the sale to Morris and welcome them to one of the most prestigious industrial addresses in the country.

"We now look forward to many more companies joining them as phase two makes progress."
