Enabling works have begun on the first phase of a new £700 million redevelopment programme at a university.
O'Brien Contractors has started the work on what will become a new science and engineering facility at University of Warwick.
It will have learning and research facilities alongside space for collaboration, public engagement and socialising.
Once finalised, the facility will also become home to the university's department of chemistry and physics and school of engineering.
O'Brien Contractors is carrying out infrastructure work to support the wider project including the construction of building platforms, erection of retaining walls and new car parking facilities for staff and students.

The move comes after the recent announcement by the institute that it was planning to invest £700 million in its campus in Coventry, focussing on social sciences and STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and mathematics).
Called the 'Connect Programme', it is said to be the largest single investment in its campus facilities since it was founded in 1965.
The new science and engineering building will be constructed as part of the STEM Connect element of the new initiative.
Lance Gudger, director at Leamington Spa-based O'Brien Contractors, said: "This is a hugely significant project for The University of Warwick, the Midlands as a whole and the º£½ÇÊÓƵ's STEM sector. We're extremely pleased to be involved.
"We're a close neighbour to Warwick and the project allows us to make an impact on the local community too, from the jobs and social value we're creating, to the legacy we are leaving at the university.
"We look forward to working closely with all the partners involved to help this flagship new facility come to life."
Mark Williams, academic director for the STEM Connect programme at the university, added: "We're extremely pleased to be working with O'Brien Contractors and huge progress has already been made on site, preparing the land for the next stage of the development."
