Work starts on huge new Bathroom Mountain warehouse

The company is moving to a brand new 175,000 sq ft base down the road from its current site in Stoke-on-Trent

The ground has been officially broken on a huge new warehouse for a growing Stoke-on-Trent bathroom company.

Bathroom Mountain is building a 175,000 sq ft storage and distribution facility on land off Canal Lane, in Tunstall – almost double the size of its current 95,000 sq ft base in Harewood Street.

The move comes just 18 months after the company first launched in September 2021 and follows the opening of the brand new Bathroom Mountain showroom, which opened in Tunstall last summer.

Director Shamila Iqbal – whose father Mo Iqbal runs sister business Tile Mountain among others – said: "We are growing and have continued to grow since our launch two years ago, so we are investing in a fully automated warehouse, and at 175,000 sq ft, it will be much larger than the warehouse we are currently operating from.

"It was very important to us to remain in Tunstall as this is where our story started, and the majority of our staff are based here. So we are excited that we are able to stay in the town and continue to help regenerate the area."

Shamila added: "It has been a pleasure to work with councillor Abi Brown and Stoke-on-Trent City Council throughout the entire building process which started six years ago with Tile Mountain.

"We are also pleased to be working with Clowes Developments and Roe Developments once again, who have been with us from the beginning."

Bathroom Mountain is an online bathroom retailer which sells everything from baths, sinks and showers to radiators, taps and accessories including cabinets and mirrors.
