A former printing works in Birmingham city centre has been converted into a skills centre for the construction industry.
The James Cond building, in Charlotte Street, now houses a centre for sustainable construction which will provide courses and facilities for students.
Created for University College Birmingham, the regeneration of the art deco building has preserved its heritage while transforming it as a home for specialist courses in modular methods of construction, retrofit and green technologies.
The aim of the construction skills centre is to contribute to improving the sustainability of the industry by instructing students in the latest skills and technologies.
The regeneration project was led by contractor GMI Construction.
Divisional managing director Gareth Jones said: "We are pleased to have contributed to future proofing and preserving this historic site, adapting it for a new use that will support the investment in this region's infrastructure.
"It is also a source of particular pride that this building will deliver essential skills and training, unlocking a range of opportunities, for future generations of construction professionals."
