The sale of Dyserth Falls Resort has started with a £2m price tag on the site

North East Wales: Routes to the Sea

A holiday park with a checkered past has been put up for sale after going into liquidation.

The sale of Dyserth Falls Resort, near Prestatyn, has officially started with a £2m price tag on the site.

Dyserth Falls Ltd went into liquidation in April with

Liquidators Brendan Hogan of Anderson Brookes Insolvency Practitioners Ltd and Stephen Michael Berry of Opus Restructuring were appointed and now it has been placed on the open market with Lambert Smith Hampton.

A spokesman said: "The property comprises a hotel providing 12 rooms and lodge park providing 94 cabins within 49 detached lodges together with a country club providing a health and fitness suite with swimming pool, lounge/bar, restaurant/function room, former gentleman's club and nightclub."

Speaking about the future of the site, Mr Berry said: “Dyserth Falls has clearly had its problems in the past, but we remain hopeful of finding a buyer or investor who is willing to take the holiday park forward.

"The resort occupies a great location, surrounded by countryside and just a few miles from major towns, the coast and tourist attractions; it has plenty of positives in its favour.”

At that time of the liquidation it was believed around 60 people - including families - were on the site and many are permanent residents who owned lodges.
