A village in North Wales saw the biggest hike in property searches last year while two Welsh communities were in the top ten for price hikes.

Property website revealed Rhos On Sea in Wales has topped the list of buyer search hotspots – with the biggest increase in buyer searches compared with 2020.

Searches for the coastal town increased more than nine times (+858%) compared to 2020.

Meanwhile the property website also announced the 10 areas with the biggest price increases in the º£½ÇÊÓƵ over the last year.

It included Porthcawl in South Glamorgan, where prices increased by 14% to an average of £307,051 - putting it fourth on the list.

Pwllheli in Gwynedd was eighth on the list with an increase of 13% to an average of £222,607.

The last year has seen protests in Wales over spiralling house prices in the Welsh language heartlands - with fears it is pricing young people out of their communities.

Welsh Government has promised action to address this but campaigners want them to do more and move more rapidly.
