A Lancashire-based online book retailer has acquired a huge new HQ after receiving a seven-figure funding package from HSBC.

Rossendale-based WeBuyBooks has bought the 120,000sq ft Lambert Mill in Rawtenstall, with its 170 employees set to relocate there from its Waterfoot base over the next six months.

The move comes as part of exciting expansion plans for the North West firm, one of the leading book recyclers in the º£½ÇÊÓƵ and specialising in buying and selling used books to its customers.

The business is looking to grow its 170-strong workforce by 15% in 2021, to support the company’s growing customer base in the US, European and Australian markets.

Mike Lane, managing director of WeBuyBooks, said: “The backing from HSBC º£½ÇÊÓƵ has ensured that we are in a position to purchase the new premises.

"Once we have relocated to the new site and are fully operational, we can continue to grow our customers base throughout the º£½ÇÊÓƵ and overseas.”

Rossendale-based WeBuyBooks, established in 2007, said employees will move once "extensive renovations" have been carried out.

The Grade II-listed Lambert Mill is three times larger than the company’s existing facilities and this move will increase warehouse space by 300%.
