A drone has captured a bird's eye view of progress on the demolition of Central Library.

The former library in Birmingham city centre is currently being razed to make way for the development in

Aerial footage (above) shows how far demolition contractor DSM has reached as it brings down much-maligned library to accommodate the new office-led scheme.

Paradise will eventually comprise eight new office buildings, a hotel, public realm and rerouted traffic flow around Paradise Circus island.

The drone also flies high to show the wider site and how Central Library sits in the context of the overall Paradise development.

Work started on the demolition before Christmas and is expected to complete during the summer.

The first two office buildings - - are due to be finished by the end of 2018, with financial services giant signed up

Paradise is a joint venture between Birmingham City Council and Hermes Real Estate and Argent is managing the design and delivery of the site.
