Teesside safety equipment firm º£½ÇÊÓƵ Pods is relocating its head office to a larger base of operations to allow it to grow.

º£½ÇÊÓƵ Pods - which won the newcomer of the year prize at this year’s North East Business Awards - designs and makes specialist equipment that can protect people during a physical intervention. The firm’s Safety Pod can be used by those in a range of industries, such as healthcare and education services, to protect people from serious injury.

The company has been based at The Material Processing Institute in Middlesbrough since May 2018 but has now revealed it is moving to a much larger site at the town’s Skippers Lane Industrial Estate.

Its new home will allow º£½ÇÊÓƵ Pods to continue to grow by giving it larger manufacturing facilities and training spaces.

Palkesh Crawford, senior clinical skills consultant and joint owner of º£½ÇÊÓƵ Pods, said the additional space would also help support the companies plans to grow internationally.

He said: “When we discovered the Materials Processing Institute, we were delighted to see that its campus could provide us with everything we could hope for in order to continue our business growth and develop our services all under one roof.

“The team at the Institute have been extremely supportive of our aims and objectives and have always made us feel welcome.”

“The Materials Processing Institute has become a home away from home for all of the º£½ÇÊÓƵ Pods team. However, as our business prepares itself ahead of the launch of its 2020 international growth plans we have identified that we need even more space and it’s now time to move to even larger facilities on a new site based on Skippers Lane Industrial Estate.”
