Two medical companies open new HQ in Birmingham

Staff mark the opening of a new HQ on Quinton Business Park for Nonacus and Informed Genomics

Two medical companies have launched a new headquarters in Birmingham.

Nonacus and Informed Genomics have opened the base on Quinton Business Park, with the combined operation allowing the pair to expand their teams and work in a collaborative environment to develop new products.

Nonacus was founded in 2015 after noticing gaps in the non-invasive testing market, starting out at The BioHub at University of Birmingham where the team developed a process that could be adopted to screen pregnant women for foetus abnormalities.

As time went on, the team discovered that many of their orders were coming from cancer labs rather than those focused on prenatal testing.

Informed Genomics is a provider of genomic testing services with expertise in clinical and translational genomic testing in cancer with the aim of enabling earlier diagnoses, personalised treatments and improved patient outcomes.

Nonacus' chief executive Chris Sale said: "We'll be expanding into Germany, Nordics, the Benelux region and other key European countries where there's a significant demand for diagnostics and progressive healthcare systems.

"Our company's mission, to provide non-invasive and improved cancer testing methods, is close to the hearts of so many people which makes it easier to recruit employees who share our values and motivation.
