Turnover and profits increased at the developer co-founded by Betfred's Fred Done during its latest financial year, new documents have revealed.

Salboy has posted a turnover of £45m for the 12 months to March 31, 2023, up from £30.2m. Its pre-tax profits also increased from £3.2m to £4.8m over the same period.

The company is headquartered in Warrington and also has offices in Manchester, Hong Kong, Beijing and Shanghai. It was co-founded by managing director Simon Ismail.

Among its projects is Gary Neville's St Michael's scheme in Manchester city centre. It is also behind the regeneration of the former Boddingtons Brewery site in the city.

A statement signed off by the board said: "Over the financial year the group has continued to grow, principally due to the positive ongoing progress of the construction projects. Through careful management, the directors have been able to increase turnover whilst also being able to increase the gross profit margin.

"The directors consider the development and performance of the group during the year ended 31 March 2023 to be in line with expectations. The group will continue to supply loan finance to property development businesses, seeking new opportunities to expand its borrowings through new and existing partners."
