St George Street Public Realm, Leicester, submitted by Danaher & Walsh and Leicester City Council

Renovations on Leicester’s St George Street (pictured above) have created a more attractive and people-friendly route linking the railway station and city centre with the businesses and attractions in the Cultural Quarter.

The 22-week contract produced a modern and attractive gateway by installing rainwater gardens to aid drainage.

The result is a vibrant promenade composed of resin-bonded gravel walkways, newly landscaped areas and upgraded signage, street lighting and fencing.
