Surge in demand for food outlets in Plymouth as lockdown eases

Property experts at Stratton Creber Commercial have been inundated with inquiries for restaurants, cafes, bars and takeaways

The reopening of the hospitality sector has let to a huge demand for restaurants, cafes, bars and takeaways in the Plymouth area.

Commercial property experts say they have been inundated with requests for premises as the country moves out of Covid-related restrictions and pent-up demand fuels recovery.

Plymouth-based property consultancy Stratton Creber Commercial (SCC) has completed a number of recent deals with leisure and hospitality operators and said the hunger for premises is not yet sated.

Chris Ryland, managing director at SCC, said: “We have been inundated with requirements for food-based premises across Plymouth and the surrounding area and we are delighted to report much confidence and excitement in the market.”

Now open, the brand is designed to give guests “that feeling when you first arrive on holiday” with a distinctive, casual bar and a restaurant that will extend outside.

A comprehensive food menu is available alongside a wide selection of beers, wines and cocktails. It is the second location for The Club House which already has a successful operation in Liverpool.

Elsewhere in Plymouth, the team behind the renowned Tigermilk cocktail bar has snapped up new premises in the city centre.
