Mia Direct develops and installs fibre broadband infrastructure

An engineering firm which specialises in telecoms has invested in a new warehouse in Staffordshire as part of its plans to expand across the º£½ÇÊÓƵ.

Mia Direct, which develops and installs fibre broadband infrastructure, has used a six-figure loan from Lloyds Bank to buy the new 8,200 sq ft premises in Rugeley.

The new site boasts more office space for staff and additional storage space for equipment and stock.

The investment will support the company's plans to expand its footprint across the º£½ÇÊÓƵ.

Mia Direct has played an important role in upgrading the internet capabilities in homes and businesses across the West Midlands to faster broadband during the past 12 months, supporting the installation of BT Openreach fibre broadband.

And the company has seen a rise demand for its services as a result of more people working from home during the pandemic.

The increase in business has seen Mia Direct grow its workforce from a dozen employees to more than 50 - with plans to take on even more staff in 2021.

The company also recently secured a seven-figure contract for a new installation in Hertfordshire and is looking for more opportunities to take on new business beyond the West Midlands.
