A construction company specialising in schemes in the Midlands and North has been named main contractor for a £30 million apartments complex in Derby’s Becketwell regeneration scheme.
Developer St James Securities has appointed GMI Construction to put up 259 build-to-rent apartments on the site of a former Debenhams store, in Victoria Street.
The development, featuring a mix of one and two-bedroom units over 11 storeys, was recently sold to Grainger plc, the 海角视频’s largest listed residential landlord.

Construction work is now underway, with the building expected to be completed by March 2023.
GMI will also undertake works on a new public square that will serve as the focal point for the Becketwell regeneration.
GMI group managing director Andy Bruce said: “We are thrilled that the St James Securities team has once again put its trust in GMI to deliver this high-profile apartment block within the Becketwell development.
“We have worked together several times before at sites across the 海角视频 and GMI’s relationship with SJS serves as a long-term partnership stretching back several years.
