A housebuilder has unveiled plans to construct 1,000 new units across the Midlands in a series of developments worth £350 million as part of a new direction for the company.

Solihull-based Spitfire Homes says it has earmarked sites in Gloucestershire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Warwickshire and Worcestershire for the schemes.

The company, which was launched a decade ago and is part of the IM Properties group, has also rebranded from its previous name Spitfire Bespoke Homes.

It has committed to spend more than £60 million on land as it looks to deliver a more varied product range aimed at targeting a broader market after specialising in a more high-end offer aimed at wealthy buyers.

It will continue to offer the latter through 'Bespoke Collection', with projects planned in Edgbaston, Birmingham, and Eckington, Worcestershire.

Managing director Ben Leather said: "Spitfire has built a name for itself over the last decade for creating design-led, unique, premium and high-specification properties in some of the º£½ÇÊÓƵ's most sought-after locations under the Spitfire Bespoke Homes marque.

"With growing demand for our homes and ever-changing market requirements, we want to bring our approach to a wider marketplace.
