Shortlisted unveiled for 2015 RICS West Midlands

Barclaycard Arena and airport runway extension among a host of schemes from across the region to make the final shortlist

The new-look Barclaycard Arena, The School Yard in Harborne and the runway extension at Birmingham Airport are among a host of projects shortlisted in the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors West Midlands Awards.

The 2015 event, which takes place at Town Hall Birmingham Hall, will recognise regional projects in eight categories from which an overall project of the year will be crowned.

The former reopened fully in December led by BAM Construction while property developer Neil Edginton and is building apartments at The School Yard.

The winners of five categories - building conservation, community benefit, design through innovation, infrastructure and regeneration - will be entered into the national grand final where they will compete against projects from 11 other regions.

That award ceremony takes place at the Savoy Hotel in London in October.
