Known as the Wrentham Street Triangle, the application site in the Southside district is bounded by Wrentham Street, Kent Street and Gooch Street North and bookended by two pubs - The Fountain Inn and The British Oak - although these are not part of the application.
Officers at Birmingham City Council have recommended the project is approved when its planning committee meets on Thursday.
A report prepared ahead of the meeting said: "The application proposals would deliver a sustainable residential development within the city centre, well served by existing facilities and infrastructure.
