Construction company 4Wood has struck a deal to open a new base at a forthcoming TV studio in Birmingham.

The Cardiff-based firm, which specialises in building sets for TV and films, has secured space at the new Digbeth Loc. Studios complex, making it one of the first companies to set up shop there.

Digbeth Loc. is currently being created in old warehouses on canalside land in Fazeley Street in a project led by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight and which will soon provide a new home for hit BBC show MasterChef.

4Wood said the move would give it the opportunity to continue expanding its º£½ÇÊÓƵ presence by working with customers using the new studios and benefiting from Birmingham's central location to collaborate with productions elsewhere in the Midlands.

The company was founded in 2005 and has worked on shows such as Doctor Who's 60th anniversary episodes, including the new Tardis, The Winter King and Lost Boys and Fairies.

Managing director Graham Webb said: "We've been so impressed by the vision for Digbeth Loc. and the calibre of productions that they are already beginning to attract.

"High-end TV, feature films and increasingly formatted shows are our sweet spot so this was too good of an opportunity to miss as we grow."
