Sandvik Coromant unveils new Black Country hub

Swedish metal firm creates new training facility for customers alongside offices for º£½ÇÊÓÆµ staff

A Swedish metal firm has officially opened its brand new facility in the Black Country.

Sandvik Coromant, which supplies cutting tools and services to the global metal-cutting industry, has invested in its site in Halesowen where it has been since 1958.

The previous building was demolished to make way for the new-look hub which now provides customers with the opportunity to experience training with machinery and to obtain knowledge from Sandvik Coromant's staff.

There is also space for the company's º£½ÇÊÓÆµ employees, including flexible desk space for 100 office-based workers at the site on the A456 Manor Way.

The plant also has solar panels and a number of electric vehicle charging points with dedicated car parking spaces.

Speaking to guests at a welcome ceremony for the new centre, º£½ÇÊÓÆµ and Ireland sales director David Harborn said: "Our ties to the Midlands go back over 100 years.

"Sandvik Coromant has long been a flagship employer and a recognisable name for the region and we want this to continue.
