Rolton Kilbride eyes Hams Hall for new energy centre

Renewable plant would be able to produce electricity and heat to serve local businesses

Plans for a new renewable energy centre in Hams Hall have been unveiled.

Developer Rolton Kilbride is behind the project for the centre, in Hams Hall, which will provide both electricity and heat.

Up to 20 new jobs could be created by the centre, which would recover renewable energy from residual waste after all recycling has taken place and the heat and electricity could be exported to commercial energy users in Hams Hall.

It is hoped this would enable local businesses to reduce their operating costs, support their economic viability and boost growth.

Managing waste locally could potentially reduce waste management and transport costs for local authority in Warwickshire, enabling funds to be redirected to other services.

Spokesman for Rolton Kilbride Ian Crummack said: "Submitting our application is not the end of consultation for Rolton Kilbride.

"We will continue to work with the community to address any queries they may have.
