Roads and logistics park among finalists for Infrastructure Project of the Year in the 2020-21 ProCon property awards

Giant logistics park, a major junction and a pedestrian link to a nature reserve are the three finalists.

A46/A5630 Anstey Lane Junction Improvement

Roads, rail and a ramp are all on their way towards winning Infrastructure Project of the Year in the 2020-21 ProCon Leicestershire property and construction awards.

A giant logistics park, a major junction and a pedestrian link to a nature reserve are the three finalists.

The category, sponsored by Charles Henry & Sons, is one of eight in this year’s ProCon Awards. The ProCon Awards’ overall sponsors are Vistry Partnerships, Gateley Legal, Salus Approved Inspectors and Unique Window Systems. The Leicester Mercury is the Awards’ media partner.

The Large Non-Residential Scheme of the Year finalists are:

A46/A5630 Anstey Lane Junction Improvement, Leicester , submitted by Galliford Try Infrastructure

The scheme involved improvements of a major connection between the strategic A46, the Leicester local highway network and an area of significant housing growth in north Leicester.

Upgrading the length of the dual carriageway in both directions and increasing the number of lanes on the approach to the roundabouts provided a much-needed capacity increase to the local road infrastructure.

The scheme provided a gyratory system and signals improvements including traffic light control at the roundabouts. Improvements were made for pedestrian and cycling routes and provided safe crossing point facilities.
