A pair of office blocks in Birmingham city centre is undergoing a renovation project to create a new destination in the city.

The adjoining 2 Colmore Square and Cannon House, in The Priory Queensway in the business district, are being revamped and rebranded to become 'Multistory'.

The new-look, eight-storey building will have 75,000 sq ft of new grade A office space and a further 15,000 sq ft of amenity space for tenants.

The entrance off Colmore Square will be revamped to create a new-look reception and connected to that will be quiet work zones.

A second arrival reception area off The Old Square will become a multifunctional area for occupiers and visitors, including informal seating and meeting space.

Other planned amenities include co-working areas, bookable meeting rooms, a fully equipped auditorium with space for 100 people, a 2,000 sq ft outdoor terrace and a community bar for socialising.

There will be a transport hub in the basement, accessible from Steelhouse Lane, with charging facilities for ten electric vehicles, secure space for 286 bikes and changing rooms.

There will also be a further 70 basement car parking spaces and retail and leisure units covering 27,000 sq ft, at ground and lower-ground level and mainly fronting onto The Priory Queensway.

Previous tenants in these units included a branch of TSB and the Snow + Rock and Runners Need sports shop.

The new-look space is due to be available during the first quarter of next year.
