Pub operator Amber Taverns is looking to expand its estate of community public houses across the º£½ÇÊÓƵ by opening new sites across the South West and South Wales.

The hospitality business has enlisted the help of real estate firm Savills to find freehold or long leasehold high street locations across the regions.

A promotional flyer details a list of locations across the South West where Amber Taverns is aiming to establish itself, including Bath; Bournemouth; Bristol and the surrounding area; Cirencester; Exeter; Stroud; Swindon; and Yeovil.

It is understood this list is not exhaustive, with Amber Taverns looking for as many possible locations in the region it can find that meet its requirements.

Savills said its client is looking for sites with a minimum ground floor area of 175 sq m and that it would also consider non-licensed buildings. An outside area or a space to create is also among its preferences.

Amber Taverns, which is headquartered in Blackpool, currently operates more than 160 pubs in the Midlands, Wales, North of England and Scotland. The business has opened three sites across the º£½ÇÊÓƵ already this year, all of which have been retail conversions.

Stuart Stares, associate director in the licensed leisure team at Savills, said: “With the economy opening up we’ve seen pubs and restaurants benefit from the positive and energetic response from consumers.

“The sector is expected to continue to perform resiliently and as such we have seen active interest from investors, both new and established.”
