Greater Manchester’s property community have paid tribute to Patrick Joynson, the former head of office at Savills, who passed away last week from cancer.

Patrick joined Savills in June 1996 helping to establish the Manchester office working alongside current global CEO Mark Ridley, and Peter Mallinder.

Patrick took on the role of head of Manchester between 2011 to 2015, during which time the office doubled in size.

In addition to running the Manchester office, Patrick primarily specialized in the disposal of business space providing strategic development and agency advice on a variety of large mixed use schemes around the region.

They included First Street, Piccadilly Place, and One St Peters Square.

He was also named Property Personality of the year in 2016 at the North West Property Awards at which he was described as ‘a significant dealmaker working tirelessly with the City Council and other stakeholders to bring inward investment into the city.’

Mark Ridley, CEO of Savills, said: “A fitting tribute to Patrick’s career was him winning the North West Property Personality of the Year Award in 2016, where the judges also noted his warmth and wit, as well as his unparalleled professionalism.  He received a standing ovation from all 1000 guests at the ceremony.

“Patrick battled his illness with tremendous courage and humour, and he leaves behind not only an enormous hole but also a fantastic legacy as a true Savills legend.
