A development company is opening its first Midlands office in Birmingham.

Henry Boot Developments has taken space in Bank House, Cherry Street.

The firm said the move would allow it to capitalise on opportunities in the wider Midlands region.

Henry Boot's new Birmingham base will have five staff and bring its total number of º£½ÇÊÓƵ offices to six, joining Bristol, Glasgow, London, Manchester and its head office in Sheffield.

Director Vivienne Clements, who will lead the team, said: "Opening an office in Birmingham was a logical step for us given the continued growth of our business across the country and some very exciting opportunities within the Midlands.

"Birmingham and the wider region will benefit from significant investment and regeneration driven by infrastructure improvements, most notably HS2.

"Establishing an office in the city will ensure we remain an active participant in those conversations during the coming months and years."

Midlands regional manager Justin Sheldon added: "We have been focusing on the Midlands as we see it as an area with great potential for economic growth.
