An automotive engineering firm has moved to its first business premises after a rapid period of growth.

B14 Minis has opened a new base at the North Moons Moat industrial estate, in Redditch, from where it services and upgrades Minis.

Chris Benham and partner Katie Gammon previously ran the company from home and by renting space at a friend's garage premises but were prompted to make the move after a surge since the covid-19 lockdown started last year.

He said: "I've loved the Minis since BMW relaunched them when I was working for a BMW dealership. I drive one myself and a lot of my customers are enthusiasts.

"Over the last year, we have seen demand for maintenance and servicing work overtaken by people wanting upgrades to their suspension, braking systems, engine tuning and so on.

"It became clear we needed to have our own workshop to cater for the demand which has just kept growing."

The lease deal was brokered by commercial property agency John Truslove.
