A charity that provides support for property professionals and their families through hard times has moved into new offices in Birmingham.

LionHeart, which is the independent charity for Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) professionals, has signed a six-year lease on 2,200 sq ft of space in One Cornwall Street in the city's business district.

The charity, which celebrates its 125th anniversary next year, works for members throughout the duration of their careers and helps them when they fall on times of need.

Its services include financial support, health and wellbeing, counselling, coaching and other work-related support as well as offering help to members and their loved ones if they become seriously ill or suffer an accident.

Apprentices, students and surveyors who have retired or are no longer practising can also access the charity's services.

LionHeart chairman Peter McCrea said: "We were delighted to secure excellent accommodation in the heart of Birmingham, providing a central base from which the LionHeart team will continue to support the surveying family during these troubled times.

"Normally, LionHeart is all about providing support to RICS professionals and it is not very often we need to call on the professional expertise of a surveyor ourselves."
