The regeneration of a historic former city hospital is gathering pace as housebuilder Persimmon brings forward its latest plans for the site.
Hospital, in Raddlebarn Road, underwent a phased closure following the opening of nearby Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham in 2010 and last year Persimmon acquired the 43-acre site,
It has already started working on the first two phases - and then a second element containing plans for
Phase three, on the corner of Raddlebarn Road and Oak Tree Lane, will see the existing 'West Lodge' building converted into ten apartments and a further 147 flats constructed, comprising a mix of one- and two-bedroom units.
Unlike the first two phases, there will be no affordable housing included in this element.
The final estate is expected to have around 650 homes.
