More details have emerged about a new residential development in Birmingham which could reach almost 50 storeys.
The team behind the £700 million Paradise project in Birmingham city centre revealed in March that the office-led development was taking a new direction by adding a residential aspect.
At the time, details were light from development manager Argent other than it would be built on the northern edge of the site next to Summer Row and have more than 300 apartments available for rent only.
A new report has now been submitted to Birmingham City Council which suggests the project will have 377 apartments and 8,600 sq ft of commercial space for leisure and retail uses.
It said developers were weighing up two possible options for the site with one comprising three adjoining parts of 28, 39 and a 42 storeys respectively or alternatively a single tower up to a maximum of 47 storeys.
Construction work is expected to start in autumn 2021 and be completed by the end of 2023, according to the report.

The Paradise team said last month that the change of direction for the project was "in response to market demand for high-quality city centre living".
There has been no official comment from Argent on these newly submitted documents but a spokesman told BusinessLive that a planning application was still being worked on and would be lodged with Birmingham City Council in June.

Phase one of Paradise, which is due to be completed this year, comprises office blocks One and Two Chamberlain Square, redrawn traffic routes around the old Paradise Circus island, new public realm and pedestrian walkways.
Phase two comprises office building One Centenary Way, construction work on which started at the end of last year, a second office building called Three Chamberlain Square and a four-star replacement for the Copthorne Hotel containing around 250 bedrooms.
The Copthorne and 1980s office block 77 Paradise Circus Queensway will then be demolished to make way for phase three, set to comprise up to five buildings including this new residential element.
Birmingham-based Glenn Howells Architects, which has already designed other parts of the scheme, is working on the residential building.
