Flexible workspace company Orega has announced the opening of its first North East office with a facility in Newcastle city centre.

The company has signed a long term management agreement with Palace Capital plc to launch the workspace at at No 2 St James’ Gate, Newcastle. Orega will be creating 22,500 sq ft of newly refurbished space to provide around 400 workstations across the second and third floors of the of the seven-storey, 82,500 sq ft building.

Following a refurbishment to be carried out this summer, the new space will open in the autumn. The office marks the first flexible space opened by Orega in the region, joining 25 offices aross the Ƶ including sites in London, Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, Birmingham, Bristol, Marlow, Uxbridge, Aberdeen and Glasgow.

No 2 St James Gate, based at the gateway between Central Station and the Forth Goods Yard area, has recently been refurbished following a seven-figure makeover by owners Palace Capital, to bring forward new offices as well as upgrade existing space. The investment created a double-height reception area, new Grade A floor plates, a redesign of the outside space to create a courtyard plaza and the conversion of retail units into two, new self-contained offices.

Orega’s new base within the building will include different working zones, a large meeting room suite, an on-site shower and changing facilities, unlimited coffee and secure bike parking.
