One of the biggest retail and leisure schemes in Wales has reported strong trading on the back of 16 new lettings and a surge in footfall.

M Cwmbran (formerly known as Cwmbran Centre and previous to that Cwmbran Shopping Centre), said that in 2024 new tenants agreed to take up more than 98,000 sq ft of space.

Managed by LCP, part of M Core, last year M Cwmbran, based in Cwmbran, attracted 22.2 million visitors , up 7.36% on the previous year.

New tenants include Dunelm, The Range, Coffi Kitoko and Cards Direct. M Cwmbran wouldn’t confirm its current occupancy rate. It provides around 740,000 sq ft of space.

Adam Martin, asset manager for M Cwmbran, said: We are incredibly proud of the transformation M Cwmbran has undergone over the past year. The addition of 16 new retailers, combined with our investment in commercialisation and visitor experience, demonstrates our commitment to making this centre a leading retail and leisure destination in Wales.

" The rise in footfall and retailer success stories prove that our efforts are paying off, and we look forward to continuing this positive momentum into the future.”

LCP acquired M Cwmbran in 2022 in a £138m deal that also included the Galleries shopping centre in Sunderland, from M&G Real Estate.
