Universal Works

A Nottingham fashion brand has launched its first dedicated showroom in the heart of Holborn.

Universal Works has taken premises in Emerald Street, just off Theobolds Road, not far from the British Museum.

The contemporary menswear brand was launched on the kitchen table of co-founder, director and designer David Keyte in 2009.

It now has three stores and the new London address will be used as a showroom to present its seasonal collections to buyers.

Mr Keyte said: “We wanted to provide our º£½ÇÊÓƵ retailers with a larger space to view our collections each season and, after finding this space, we knew we needed to secure the property quickly.”

His company struck the deal on the property with landlord Mayfair and Holland Properties with help from East Midlands law firm Nelsons.

Nelsons began working on the transaction in December and the deal was completed on January 14.

Paul Hinchliffe, legal director and solicitor at Nelsons who worked on the deal, said: “This was our first time working with Universal Works after I was recommended by Richard Sutton at NG Chartered Surveyors, with the landlord working with the agents at Compton.
