North East estate agency Pattinson has snapped up a second office as demand for its services grows.
The firm, which is based at the Silverlink Business Park in North Tyneside, operates an estate agency business and auction company. It has acquired a new office building next its existing large head office, which houses its regional call centre and other expanding departments.
The purchase comes within the same year as the firm’s purchase of three North East estate agencies, bringing its branch total to 30 Pattinson offices spanning the region. In May the business took over Stanley based NS Bennett Estate Agency, after owner Stephen Bennett announced his retirement – a deal which followed the previous acquisitions of Ryedales Estate Agency in Cramlington, and Browns in Stockton and Norton.
The new office building will accommodate the additional staff it has recruited following the recent acquisitions, as well as its national auction facility, Pattinson Auction. The company said it has seen an increase in auction transactions after appointing additional partner agents around the Ƶ.
Pattinson, which turned over £14.7m in most recent filed accounts covering 2022, will occupy the vacant ground floor and continue to let the 2,857 sq ft first floor to the existing tenant.
Launched in 1977, Pattinson has grown to employ over 300 people working across residential and commercial property sales and lettings, auction, conveyancing, property management and financial services.
Group managing director at Pattinson Estate Agency and Pattinson Auction, Justin Beckwith, said: “We have had a record-breaking year so far and are continuing that upward trajectory due to the current high demand for property. People are becoming increasingly aware of the benefits of selling through auction and we now have a network of over 3,700 partner estate agents throughout the Ƶ. This additional office will allow us to support this growth of not only our auction facility, but of the whole estate agency, and will also give us space to expand further.”
Chris Pearson, partner at the selling agency, Naylors Gavin Black, said: “It’s great to see a North East business doing so incredibly well. The property they have purchased is fitted out to a high standard and in a great location so should be a sound investment.”
